On the 7th and the 8th November, M.D Marek Filipek from HIFU Clinic/Medicover Warsaw and his new young assistant went to Lyon/France to meet with M.D Nicolas Morel Journel, KOL in transgender surgery working at Lyon Sud Hospital.
During the diner the three surgeons had the opportunity to exchange their experience. M.D Nicolas Morel Journel exposed the details about phalloplasty and vaginoplasty and importance of the team taking care of transgenders before, during and after the surgeries.
The 8th November 2016, Dr Nicolas Morel Journel changed a penile implant presenting a leakage because of a broken armed tubing at the pump exit. Transgender neo-scrotums are sometimes very small and armed tubing connected to the pump are fold and have to resist unusual constraints.
Procedure began as usual, with a low and lateral incision to the phalloplasty, on the right side. Removal of the penile implants presenting a failure was quick and without major difficulties. The reservoir was not removed, as it did not present any damage or any failure. Penile implant inflatable ZSI 475 FTM, with reinforced armed tubing to reduce the risk of leakage, was inserted easily in the phalloplasty and the square based fixed to the pubic bone. Pump founds its place in the neo-scrotum. Dr Nicolas Morel Journel took care not to fold excessively the armed tubing connecting the pump to the reservoir.
Filling of components and connection were done before the final closure.
ZSI is the only European manufacturer of artificial urinary sphincters and of malleable and inflatable penile implants, as solutions for male urological problems (incontinence), sexual complications (Erectile Dysfunction), and gender identity procedures (prostheses for trans men and women).
