New implantations of ZSI 475 FTM implants in Bordeaux !

We were with Professor Vincent Casoli, plastic and aesthetic surgeon at the University Hospital of Bordeaux, France. The professor is also responsible for the Transgender Unit within the hospital.

We arrived early in the morning. Dr Christophe Llorens was also present to assist the Professor in the implantation of two ZSI 475 FTM hydraulic prostheses.

Each surgery lasted approximately 1.30 to 2 hours. The Professor used a technique to fix the implant which is specific to the Bordeaux Hospital, with Mitek anchors.

“We are going to use these anchors to fix them on the pubis and which allow us to have a very satisfactory bone anchorage. This allows us to properly implant the base of the penile prosthesis on the pubis”, explained Professor Casoli.

Both implantations were successful, and we had the opportunity to ask Professor Casoli a few questions about his techniques, his experience with ZSI prostheses and about an update regarding surgeries during COVID. We have posted a video of his interview here (subtitles in English are available).

ZSI is the only European manufacturer of artificial urinary sphincters and of malleable and inflatable penile implants, as solutions for male urological problems (incontinence), sexual complications (Erectile Dysfunction), and gender identity procedures (prostheses for trans men and women).
