TWO SPANISH MEDICAL TEAMS TRAINED IN LYON
The first placement of a ZSI 100 FTM malleable penile implant was performed by Dr. Ignacio Moncada Iribarren in Madrid on October 25. Following this Dr. Eduardo Simón Sanz from Valencia and Dr. Iván Mañero Vázquez from Barcelona and Madrid went to Lyon to get training in the surgical placement of ZSI 475 FTM inflatable penile implants. Dr. Nicolas Morel-Journel, who has a body of experience with this type of surgery and knows these implants well, did the training.
The training took place on the same day. Dr. Simón and Dr. Mañero were able to participate in two classic procedures, which were performed without complications. They discussed with Dr. Morel-Journel the various techniques and precautions required for success in these operations. Dr. Morel-Journel was generous with his advice and recommendations, allowing the two Spanish surgeons to adapt their techniques and knowledge to the new prosthesis.
ZSI is the only European manufacturer of artificial urinary sphincters and of malleable and inflatable penile implants, as solutions for male urological problems (incontinence), sexual complications (Erectile Dysfunction), and gender identity procedures (prostheses for trans men and women).
